It's so sad when the last few
days in several television stations spread that there was a
child who failed to get the
maximum health care because
hospitals vital facilities used for commercial
activities that not corelated with health and not corelated with hospital’s
obligation. The event experienced by Ayu Tria, a child sufferers leukemia
absolutely should not happen if the hospital act professionally. Ayu Tria should be referred to the ICU for further
treatment, but the room is being used for shooting so disrupting medical treatment that should be accepted by ayu tria. The
hospital said that the shooting is not disturb the medical treatment in the
hospital but from the Ayu Tria’s family, Kurnianto and Roasih (Ayu Tria’s
parent), said that the commercial activity disrupt the patient. Actually, ICU
room and or common room like that must be isolated and sterile from any
activities that doesn’t have corelated and interest with medical treatment for
patient.
Based on act no.44 of 2009 article 2,
hospital must organized professionally
and with regard to the protection
and safety of patients. in the case
above it is obvious that the hospital is not professional and not able to protect the comfort of the patient.
hospitals should put the interests of patients first rather than commercial interest because
it is the primary task of the hospital. Actually there is no
prohibition to hospital to be used as the set of shooting. Perhaps, this problem will be a lesson for us.
